Project Book - Hatred: Politics of Emotions
At some point, disgust began to spread to misogyny. Hate is political, so we have to change
it by resisting the structure of hate with anger. A book titled Hatred: Politics of Emotions,
which shares the belief that the energy of hatred can also be converted into world-changing
energy, has been published.
Chapter 1, "What is Hate," describes the ideal image that everyone has. The author explains
why self-loathing occurs and the case of self-loathing and crime, citing Lawrence and Sartre.
In chapter 2, “How hate occurs,” the author uses dog meat as an example to explain hate food
and describes how art and mass media create hate. Chapter 3 “Hate and Identity” sheds light
on the relationship between beauty and hate, and the change in hate and attitude, using
homosexuality as an example. Chapter 4 “Women Hate, or Misogyny” describes the tradition
and culture of misogyny. It also focuses on the difference between hate and hatred and explains
that hatred is created, not born, citing Memories of Matsuko. Chapter 5, “Discussion of Misogyny:
Is there a misogyny?” describes how misogyny, which was common in the past, has evolved into
a partial phenomenon. Moreover, it focuses on the difference between misogyny and female insult
and emphasizes those feelings that can disappear.
